COPY OF LETTER FROM:-

PETO AND RADFORD

50, GROSVENOR GARDENS,
LONDON. S.W.1.

Our Ref....M/5.
12th February. 1924.

Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Sirs,

We have yours of the 8th inst. Reference WD.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead}11/JW, and note the alterations to the specification.

We have heard from the Chloride Co. about the terminals etc. and we both now seem to be in agreement and in a position to go forward and make these batteries as soon as you instruct us to do so.

The Chloride Co. have sent us a copy of their letter to you of the 8th inst. and whilst we note that you have decided to have the bolted up connections we must say that we most strongly agree with them when they say that they consider the burnt up connections are much preferable. We know that there have been troubles on Rolls Royce cars with loose battery connections and if this is the case with two connections it appears that there will be more risk of it with twelve. The Rolls Royce electrical equipment seems to be seriously affected by loose battery connections and all sorts of weird and most difficult troubles arise through this cause. The writer has it on his own car and knows of several other cases and we believe if you asked your Repair Department about it they would confirm what we say.

However, it would seem unwise at this late stage to bring up this matter and we note what has been decided on.

Awaiting your instructions with regard to the production of the new battery.

Yours faithfully,
PETO & RADFORD.
(Sgd) C.R.N.Minchin.
