Dear Sirs,

For the attention of F.J. Hardy, Esq.

Since the visit of your Mr. Hardy to our Works we have, as requested, checked over the three rollers he left with us and we regret to have to report that they are not satisfactory.

We enclose herewith Blue Prints of each shewing the actual dimensions measured on the three rollers as accurate as we have been able to do, taking into consideration the very poor means of measuring these rollers which we have at our disposal.

We have already put in hand three replace rollers and these are being pushed through as quickly as possible.

We are arranging to make some tools and gauges for checking up these parts in the future so that errors of this description can be detected.

In conclusion, although we do not wish in any way to make light of the matter, we believe that you are fully conversant with the difficulties we have had to contend with in making these parts, more particularly in regard to the lack of tools, equipment and gauges.
