STEPHEN PAPELIAN. Our Ref. 45/287/R.{Sir Henry Royce} Your Ref. 23rd December, 1937. W.A. Robotham, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., D E R B Y. Dear Mr. Robotham, I am enclosing a list describing a new process by Perfect Circle, namely, the Ferrox Surface, and also, the new "200" Top Ring. I think it will be a very good idea if you allow Perfect Circle to submit a complete set of rings for a 4¼-litre Bentley engine, and this will be done free of charge, on condition that you machine the piston ring grooves in your piston to the Perfect Circle instructions. I feel positive that with these latest developments Perfect Circle can give you a ring combination which will definitely improve the oil consumption on the Bentley, and if this satisfies you, the same process can be done with your other products. It may be better to have two Sets sent over, and one could be used on a dynamometer test, and the other on a road test. Perhaps you will kindly return the enclosed list when you have finished with same, as it is the only one in our possession. Awaiting your comments. Yours faithfully, p.p. R.M. PAPELIAN LIMITED.
