ENGINE.

I have written to say that this should follow as near as possible the "SS{S. Smith}".

But if much delay will arise it might be better with the present carburetter to keep the induction pipes on the exhaust side.

I am in hopes that E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has by now found which type promises to be the best that can be made in reasonable time - i.e. the same time as the other parts which must be on this car: they are -

(1) Longer frame.
(2) Smaller wheels with shorter hubs.
(3) Central oiling.
(4) Raised rear tank (road clearance.)
(5) Mechanic's joints.
(6) Stiffer crankshaft with less oil channels.
(7) Improved damper (crankshaft.)
(8) Starter pinion (RR. multi-plate.)
(9) Aluminium head.

There are a few parts which it is doubtful if you can get on, such as -

(a) Front axle control etc.

We ought to try to get the controls flatter into the top of the steering wheel.
