Messrs. Ferranti Ltd.
Hollinwood,
Lancs.

For the attention of Mr. Baggs.

Dear Sirs,

Ferranti chassis ammeters type B.S.1.

We duly received five instruments of the above type Nos. 32352-6 made up to a similar finish to our present standard. We note these are of matt black finish as compared with the bright black finish as standard. We should appreciate your remarks on this point.

We consider that the pointer would be better (for reading) if the pear shaped end was lower in relation to the scale and made more slender and pointed at the indicating end. It would also be an improvement if the 5 and 15 division marks were distinguished by having a slightly longer stroke, readings could then be taken more readily.

In regard to the performance of these instruments on preliminary bench test, with this we are perfectly satisfied. We do not propose returning the instruments for the slight modifications at present suggested but to proceed with our tests of these instruments, and should it be necessary to return one or more for any cause we should like those slight alterations made.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
