Messrs: The Chatwood Safe Co.Ltd.,
SHREWSBURY.

Dear Sirs,

Further to our letter of 3.11.40. and yours of 7th. and 8th. November. We have instructed our Order Office to issue an official order to you for the two Fireproof Containers for Drawings mentioned therein.

With reference to your enquiry re a Government Priority Number. This is 1.A. and the work for which we urgently require these containers is in connection with Government Contracts B.9044/C.11.C. and B.124506/C.11.C.

This work is of an extremely secret nature and we wish to be as sure as possible that our drawings are safe and inaccessible when the Drawing Offices have to be left during air-raids, etc.,

We wish to make it quite clear, however, that we are not asking the Government to pay for these, and that the account should be sent to Messrs Rolls Royce for payment. This should be marked - for the attention of Mr. W.A.Robotham.

Will you please supply the containers with locks, at an extra cost of 10/- each, as quoted.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS ROYCE LTD.,

p.p. Mr. W.A.Robotham.
