-2- Fuel Consumption. I understand that the large amount of fuel taken is attributed to the carburetter requiring attention both in respect of metering and distribution. This is a very important item, and I should like to know the position. Have you been able to improve matters by bench-tests ? Servo Motor and Mechanism. It would appear from the report that the continued reliable operation of the brakes is greatly handicapped by the servo being too small. Have you a modified design in hand for correcting this trouble ? Radiator and Shutters. These shutters appear to be very delicate and easily put out of operation by external damage and I should be glad to know if they are as robust as those on a 20/25 H.P. and if not can they not be made so ? Rear Axle. At various times during mileage the amount of back-lash was criticised. I should be glad to know after the axle has been dismantled what has been found to be the cause of this, and whether it was due to wear and tear or to the original setting. Exhaust System. On reading page 12 one is given the impression that the construction and design of the whole exhaust system outside the manifold appears to require careful consideration. There is hardly a part of this system which has not given trouble in one way or another, and obviously the matter is very important because of its reaction on other resonant parts, such as body, causing booms. Dynamo. The vibrator control appeared to operate consistently well other than on one occasion when the cut-out points stuck. I conclude that no more ammeters will be used in which the needle is undamped. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
