GEARBOXES - (CONSTANT MESH GEARS.) X7310

Some time ago when we enquired concerning some experiments which you were having carried out on straight ground teeth for the above, you replied giving us some information of what had been done up-to-date concerning these teeth, and the result of these experiments I believe was not entirely satisfactory from the point of view of silence, but you informed us that you had one more experiment which you believed would shew better results, consisting of larger teeth of different form from standard, the base circle being considerably reduced relative to the pitch circle. As we are carrying on with the new EAC. 7. gearbox designs we should be glad to hear of any useful information you have been able to obtain concerning the results on straight teeth for the constant mesh gears?
