"Goshawk 11" Laminated Road Springs.

I attach hereto copies of correspondence, as follows:-

My note Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 11/NJ5.10.22 to C.(Sales)
Sales note C18/C13.10.22 to me
My note Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} 5/NJ16.10.22 to C.(Sales)

I am inclined to the opinion that ultimately we shall experience almost as much difficulty in pre-fixing the poundages of springs for "Goshawk 11" as we are experiencing in the case of the 40/50 HP. chassis and in view of the possibility of this materialising, I think the matter is one which could be profitably discussed at a Conference.

If as the result of enquiries it is established that in the case of the 40/50 HP. chassis, a considerable number of springs are changed after the chassis has been sent on to test and this not because the pre-arranged poundages of springs had not been fitted in the Works, but for other reasons, I think that it might be considered whether in the case of chassis built for stock the springs fitted in the Works should be of certain fixed poundages throughout and that the correct springs should be fitted while the chassis is on test.

If Wor. {Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} is of opinion that this is a matter which can be usefully discussed at a Conference, perhaps he will call a Conference.

Wd {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead}

Corres.att.
