1023 (Experimental Dept.) Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Les4/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 1st June, 1938. C.L. Breeden, Esq., Messrs. Wilmot-Breeden Ltd., Eastern Works, BIRMINGHAM. 1. Dear Mr. Breeden, Thank you very much for your letter of 31st instant. I am very pleased that you are able to supply bumpers to our drawing FB.3628 @ 25/- including over-riders. Actually, you will be pleased to hear that for this bumper, which is for a Bentley, we shall want your standard over-rider. Although we are very anxious that you should have sufficient tools to aid an economical price, we are rather horrified with £96. I wonder if this figure can be reduced by using your standard over-rider. I have just been examining the completed scheme drawing of the rear bumper to go with FB.3628 and will send you a detail drawing in a few days. I am very pleased to hear that you are in touch with Ridlington over bumper FW.1110, and will be very interested to hear your conclusions and hope that you will soon be able to give us a date for delivery. As far as I can see the quantity will be 300. This is not including the rear bumper which will be probably 200. Although we have not yet had a price from Ridlington for the over-rider pressing, we know where these can be bought for 7½d each. Yours sincerely, | ||
