Ref. 90/34. Date 18.12.34. MEMORANDUM TO Mr. S.D. HERON. ------------------------------ Subject:- MERLIN ENGINE FUEL. We have now run the Merlin for some time on the Ethyl Export 100 octane fuel which you kindly arranged for us to obtain from the Ethyl Export Corporation. It is satisfactory in some respects but we find it to be rather prone to pre-ignition and this is a handicap for us when making tests with high supercharge. We would like to try some fuel less prone to pre-ignition and understand you may now be in a position to let us have a sample of your C.R.3 fuel of 100 octane rating. For Mr. A.J. Rowledge. | ||
