Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. x6153. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.3/MA.19.12.34. Re. Car Radio. Replying to your Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}16/I.18.12.34., we do not think that the roof aerial will function satisfactorily in the fixed portion of the roof. The reason for this is that usually the fixed portion is metal panelled too far round the sides to permit of sufficient area of aerial for satisfactory reception. We think the mostsatisfactory arrangement is the under running board aerial with non-metallic running board and we think this should be the ultimate solution to cars with sunshine roofs. We strongly recommend non-metallic running boards if possible and the use of under running board aerials. It should be possible these days to obtain a suitable material for the use of running boards which shouldbe covered with rubber instead of sheet metal. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
