COPY. To DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} from BJ. BJ3/S20.11.19. Comparative tests of Chassis. With reference to DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}16/CB19.11.19 we are anxious to ascertain what is the actual advantage of the higher compression, which we appareciate only occurs at high engine speeds. Possibly the tests, therefore, could shew the advantage, if any, gained on hills when they are negotiated on top gear, and when they are negotiated on lower gears. We know the advantages of the higher compression especially when used with covered bodiesm and one of our objects in making these tests is to ascertain whether it is advisable to permit clients (especially on the Continent) who wish to have closed bodies fitted to the high compression chassis. If there is only a slight advantage in permitting them to do so we shall do our utmost to prevent closed bodies being fitted to high compression chassis. BJ. | ||
