Dear Sirs,

Attention of Mr. Wastie.

The writer has had an opportunity of seeing your letter addressed to Mr. Howlett on the subject of RR. AC9 bearings, and in reply to the points raised on page three of your letter

(1) bearings can be produced exactly to limits shown on your drawing.

(2) We can guarantee half bearing size represented by dimension 1.1/4" plus .001/plus .002".

(3) This is optional, if you wish to finish in position we can leave the bore of the bearing accordingly. On the other hand, we can assure you that we are able to work to very fine tolerances in this respect, and finish machine the bearing complete if you so desire. On this point perhaps you would drop us a line as to what you wish us to do. We can assure you that we can work to the same tolerances as you have been receiving from Glaciers.

(4) The bore diameter/recommended in respect of the crankshaft size given of 2 1/8 -.00125/-.00225", (2.12375") is 2.12625", according to Rolls Royce's Technical Department. For your guidance in this matter, we give herewith the recommended figures for clearances
