RE - TURNING CIRCLES OF CHASSIS

In reply to your telegram requesting turning circles on various cars, we have already replied by wire stating that our present car fitted with standard 895 wheels and tyres, turns 47ft. circle on right hand lock and 44ft. circle on the left hand lock. We hvae looked up our records of particulars of other carsand although we have not got the turning circle we have a record of the angle of the pivots. When on full lock the present R.R. car actually measured is 31° right hand lock 37° left hand lock. The drawing gives 31° and 38°. The Delauney Belleville is 29° and 33°. The Daimler 30° and 32°. The Napier 27° and 29°. The turning circle would then depend on the wheel base of the car. The only complete car we have available is the Packard. We can tell by the appearance that the lock of this is very small. If Mr. Royce wishes any furhter particulars we will sbtain them.

EH.
