23rd September, 1936.

Messrs. S. Smith & Sons Ltd.,
Cricklewood Works,
London, N.W.2.

For the attention of Mr. F.{Mr Friese} Grose.

Dear Sirs,

We send you herewith the information re our Oil Filter, as requested in our discussion with you recently.

Our drawings LeC.4386 & LeC.4873 attached show respectively the layout of the filter and the type of element used. The Tecalemit type of element having been discarded recently in favour of the gauze type.

The maximum oil flow which the filter has to pass is 9 gallons per minute at 80°C., and the pressure drop across the filter under these conditions should not exceed 8 lbs/sq.in. if possible.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
