Dear Sirs,

Re Dalby-Watson Optical Indicator.

We thank you for your letter of the 6th inst., but we regret we are still unable to find the particulars which you sent us previously, as our Mr. Nadin has gone to America.

We are particularly interested to know at what maximum speed this indicator is capable of giving reasonably accurate indicator diagrams. Our engines run up to a speed of 1800 R.P.M. and the maximum pressure to be recorded would be in the neighbourhood of 350 lbs/sq.inch.. Even if the indicator would not record accurately at such a high speed, it might still be useful at lower speeds, say between 1000 and 1500 and it would, no doubt, indicate maximum pressures with fair accuracy.

Before deciding to come and see these instruments at work we should be glad if you would give us some idea of what we may expect from it as regards accuracy at highspeeds.

Yours faithfully,
