COPY OF LETTER FROM MR. A.{Mr Adams} DUCKHAM.

Duckham House,

21st September, 1937.

A.F. Sidgreaves, Esq.,
Messrs. Bentley Motors (1931) Ltd.,
16, Conduit Street, W.1.

Dear Sidgreaves,

Some 12 months ago I saw you and you were so good as to sponsor with Derby our application for admission as a firm whose oils were approved by Rolls-Royce.

As far as I can see, we are not any further forward.

Your people at Derby have been very courteous but I rather feel that perhaps I made a mistake in using our Chief Chemist as our emissary for he is absolutely non-commercial and has not a soul above tests and loves any opportunity for making more and more of them! Our successful foreign controlled competitors were probably less academic and more business like!

I hate bothering you and if you could simply let me know whether we are not persona grata or anything of that kind, our importunity shall cease both with regard to Derby and your very good self.

Yours sincerely,

(Sgd.) A.{Mr Adams} Duckham.
