This will ultimately be rebuilt into the EAC.10. type. Parts which can be used on Phantoms could be used up as spares. At present however we go on with it to prove if EAC. 10. will be successful.

I understand that it will soon be having the body fitted.

But we are anxious to make the starter motor sufficiently satisfactory so that it can be used. I understand this is type 1. with electro-magnet (solenoid) for engagement, and pinion operated contact for main switch. This gives the later operation to the main switch, and so tends towards silent engagement. I cannot see how, if this solenoid is vigorous, and the teazer torque feeble, it can stick on a normal point of contact. Moreover the slower the angle of the spiral, the less trouble there should be. You have now 20º and 5º spiral angles to try practically, and I should have thought a test of the complete equipment would be the most satisfactory way to find if the parts you have will do the work, and which is the nearest perfection.

Please get it rigged up quickly, and let us know the troubles.
