Status report on various No.1 sequence starter gear components, specifically carcases and armatures.

X.7650. NO.1 SEQUENCE STARTER GEAR.

CARCASES.

We have -

A fitted with pole pieces - no windings.
We have the three-turn per pole winding separate.
This came off J motor of No.2 scheme.
C fitted with two series two parallel field winding modified from the original 6-turn winding.
G fitted with an original 6-turn winding at present on chassis 9-EX.
N.B. The J motor of No.2 scheme is fitted with the original 6-turn winding taken from the A motor.

ARMATURES AND HELIXES.

We have three armatures :-

One with 34/52 spiral recently removed from chassis 9-EX.
One with a 20° spiral, at present on 9-EX, having been previously tested on rig.
One with a 5° spiral which has been tested on the rig but not yet on a car.
