LONDON TRIALS P.II 60.J.S.

We have received the above car, which is the first production diamond engine mounted complete car. On examination we have found the following faults :-

(1) The front engine feet castings F.{Mr Friese} 83819/9 are over-size compared to drawing dimensions.

(2) Steel washers 1.500" dia F.83834 should be used and not alum washers 1.7500" dia.

(3) Radiator control should be fitted with soft rubbers F.84086 and not hard rubbers E.80612.

(4) The movement of the radiator about its centre mount-ing should be .150" in each direction (.300 total), measured at the radiator control studs.

(5) The radiator bottom water connection requires lower-ing by using packing E.82714.

(6) The friction engine dampers require the new material know as "W dressed and ground". Clearance being allowed for the dampers to work.

(7) In the radiator centre mounting the soft rubber F.84086 and shorter distance piece F.84088 should be fitted.

We understand a number of chassis have been despatched which may have similar faults. We recommend the following modifications should be carried out before the car is delivered.

(1) Front engine feet castings F.{Mr Friese} 83818/9. Make sure that there is .075" clearance between the two castings.

(2) Steel washers 1.500" dia F.83834 replace alum washers 1.750" dia, in the front engine feet.

(3) Examine the 4 radiator control rubbers and make sure that there is no grease and that soft rubbers F.84086 are fitted.

The rubbers should have no load in position. When the top rubber is fitted it is equally important to
