IX Electryes has recently stumbled on the fact that you can replace the rubber with Micarta (that strange Bakelite material that looks as if it is composed of old rags) and get much better results. Cadillacs have only been trying it experimentally for a few weeks but are very enthusiastic about its efficiency. They have run 15 hrs endurance at 4250 revs. The Micarta is used to drive the flywheel as indicated in the attached sketch. If you will send me the drawing of the nose of the 12 Cyl and the room left for the damper together with details of the taper I will have parts made up for test. Perhaps I could make a practical scheme, then I could get the tube of Micarta supplied. Naturally the rating of the tube has to be juggled with and the longer the [Text within sketch] DAMPER .
