X4013 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re Bentley Bearings. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}8/E30.10.34 I attach copy of memo. received from Sr. Before giving approval or otherwise to his suggestion, I should like to hear what your views are. The suggestion he makes seems to me to be a good one. When at Derby last week you were raising the question of sending him a set of lead bronze bearings for his Trials car and I should like to know what is being done about this. As soon as lead bronze bearings are definitely approved, it rather looks as if we ought to send him sufficient sets for fitting to cars belonging to the type of customer to whom he refers. Therefore, if you approve of his suggestion, I will tell him to order up some standard bearings so that he has some in stock for use on cars examined and found to be in need of new bearings.
