| X261d To Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}: Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}17/KW.5.11.35. Chassis B-10-DG. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Thompson, Esq. This car will be in the Works first thing to-morrow. The owner has worn his second clutch out and has only covered 7,000 miles. Sales have agreed that we shall fit the latest type Borg & Beck clutch to this car, with a view to overcoming the complaint. If you will hand the engine over to us we will carry out the necessary modification. The owner's other complaints are - (1) The hand brake squeak is very bad. I think we have to agree that this is worse than it need be. (2) The thermometer does not function. (3) The slow running is erratic. (4) There is a rattle behind the instrument board. (5) The voltage regulator works erratically and at times there is a big discharge. (6) He wants a mirror fitting at the top of the windscreen instead of at the bottom, the one he has being useless. (7) The no-draught ventilators rattle. (8) There is an engine boom at about 3,000 revs. I should like to go out on the car with your representative before you take the engine out, just to confirm these features.
