-2- the proportion of really bad large-pave road encountered in Belgium and Northern France must be relatively small, and we submit it would be definitely a mistake to spoil the steering on account of it. We understand there is definite pressure of public opinion in Belgium for the modernising of the large stoned pave' and we feel that this is the real remedy. We would, however, lay great stress on the necessity for frequently checking the front tire pressures, the balance of the front wheels and the oil level in front shock absorbers. The other matters mentioned to Mr. Hancock were :- 1. Brakes. These are reported as being definitely up to our standard of efficiency. We regret you do not consider this high enough, but again we feel we should observe that very rough surfaces do not afford the best conditions for braking. 2. Tire wear. We have not ourselves an increased life from larger tires but we shall be interested to hear if, on an average, you do obtain longer life from the 7" x 19" tires you are now trying. 3. Instruments. These have undoubtedly been affected | ||
