B.V. etc. STEERING COLUMN. We have had three cases to date of the steering box becoming loose on the bracket which holds it to the frame. In one case the bracket was also loose on the frame. Both these points of attachment rely on friction to resist movement as the bolts and studs have clearance holes. The cause of the loosening appears to be inadequate friction grips, if the nuts are not made very tight when assembled, resulting in fidgeting of the joint and destruction of the joint washer. We recommend that the five 0.250 studs should be increased to 0.3125 and that the bolts attaching the bracket to the frame should be correspondingly increased. This should be done on the 300 production sets. We also confirm that we wish to have the Wraith type horn button on the B.V. column. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J.
