Y3456 R.R. 493 (40 H) (SL 42 12-7-23). J.H. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. COPIES TO: RCJ BJ. WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} By E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} PN{Mr Northey} OY. RG{Mr Rowledge} Expl. No. 3456 REF. HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}5/LG11.9.24. OBJECT OF TEST. Radiator tests. TESTER. A.{Mr Adams} C. Lovesey. CONDITIONS. 49-GB Car - radiator with 20" matrix - medium compression engine. Tests carried out on the dynamometer. SUMMARY OF TEST. The assumptions made out on this report only hold good with a car in still air - they have still to be confirmed on the road. The fan drive must also be efficient. From these results however it would appear possible to climb any hill without boiling if the power is reduced sufficiently and low gear is used.
