R.H. 251a (100 T) S H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 708. 19-12-20 G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 4947 X2512 -4- Contd. X.2512 X3082 X3348 FRIDAY MORNING I paid an unofficial visit to Messrs. Dubilier Co. Hammersmith, who are making our condensers. I cannot understand why they are having trouble with the job. They have better premises than we have and excepting that they do not brush each plate when assembling, are making them the same way as we are. I have suggested that they do as we do and Mr. Goodman agrees to try. I notice they are going to a lot of unnecessary trouble in making our mica armature insulating plates. It is a pity they are doing this as it makes them more expensive and the job is no better for it. I have mentioned this to EY. I also pointed out they (Dubilier) are making some micanite commutator insulating cones in one instead of two, as we receive at present. This will perhaps come cheaper and would I think come cheaper. EY. is taking the matter up. Mr. Clerk, who accompanies me is taking samples to Mr. Royce for his approval. E.J.B. Since writing I find EFC. has not been to R.{Sir Henry Royce} and that Ey. has the moulded insulations. E.J.B. [Watermark: MADE AT CROXLEY] | ||
