Dear Sirs,

With reference to instrument No. F.429. sent to us under your replacement order No.R.1662, we have thoroughly tested and inspected same at 864 revs. and can only find the instrument reads 2 miles fast at 60, we therefore cannot agree with the error stated as being 7% or 8%. We are returning this instrument to you today under separate cover and shall be glad if you will again test same and trust you will find it in perfect order.
