650. To Ey. from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}8/AP.16.8.37 WRAITH STEERING The crankcase of the Wraith III. unit is wider than that of the 25/30. unit originally fitted to this chassis, with the result that it fouls the steering gear on the 10,000 mile test car. In order to use the Wraith steering gear on the Continental P.III., we reduced the length of the splines on the rockershaft and in the lever by 0.150". This has so far been satisfactory and we suggest that the same thing should be done on Wraith so as to gain 0.150 clearance. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev.
