-2- EFC1/AT27.4.18.Contd. We have in preparation a further Nomogram which will be of a duplex character, whereas, the present one is a simple Nomogram; this will connect together the working volume of an engine, the revolutions per minute, the brake mean pressure, and the brake horse power. The numerical relation between these four quantities will be shown in this new Nomogram by two straight lines drawn across the chart. The present Nomogram will determine for us cubic capacity of any cylinder, and the second will then give us, very easily, the brake horse power at a given speed, and brake mean pressure for that particular working volume; thus it will be a very easy matter, at any time, to shorten calculations of this nature which otherwise are rather laborious.
