(U). BATTERY.

6 cells (12 volt) of 48 ampere hour capacity. It is carried in the frame and is accessible and removable through the floor. It is a well tested model of the best manufacture and with reasonable care and attention it should give long service with low upkeep.

(V). STARTER MOTOR.

Is of RR. manufacture and is geared to the flywheel with spring drive automatic pinion. There is an extra nose bearing on the motor spindle to prevent excessive deflection, and risk of breakage. It is controlled by a pedal operated switch which has the unusual feature of being oil immersed.

(W). DISTRIBUTION BOARD.

On this the wires (a) the dynamo, (b) the battery, and (c) the switch box meet together. Ample fuses are provided and carefully arranged so that fire risk is reduced to a minimum.

This fitting which is of RR. construction is a substantial bakelite moulding, having on it's face extremely reliable contacts and removable fuses. All the terminals are carefully numbered and the ends of the wires are fitted with small cuffs bearing the number to which they belong. The wires also are coloured so as to make confusion in case of detachment almost impossible. It is a neat and light fitting with an insulated cover so as to avoid the risk of accidental contacts.

(X). PETROL SYSTEM.

The rear tank is suspended in a safe position, being protected by the spare wheel etc. It is fitted with a side filler and petrol gauge. A very large filter is provided in the petrol tank which can be removed without emptying the tank. There is also a filter of large area under the carburetter float chamber also easily detachable. The petrol system is therefore well protected against blockage throughout. There is a plug in the bottom of the petrol tank specially arranged for draining any accumulation of water, or the petrol out of the main tank.

The vacuum feed tank on the dash is of extra large
