SHOCK DAMPERS PEREGRINE 3 AND 19-EX.
X4027

Peregrine 3.

We have had a case on the bumper where the rocking shaft seized in the outer bush F.59280. We find that the method for lubricating this bush was exactly similar to that now fitted to the damper on Peregrine 3. Namely no oil hole in the shaft and no grooves in the bush.

In view of the above we should like if possible to have an oil groove at the top of each of the outer bushes F.59280 .090" thick and .015 deep. The groove should finish .150" from the outer end of the bush. This is similar to the present 25HP. practice.

19-EX.

Front.

We should like these to have the experimental screwed type of gland, as about to be fitted to the Peregrine bumper. Asbestos packing similar to production should be used.

The pressure oil supply to the rocking shaft bearings should be blanked off and grooves fitted to the top of both bushes F.59280/1 similar to Peregrine 3.

Rear.

These should have strengthened gland covers but not the solid end bush F.100728. We have had satisfactory results on the bumper with alum plates secured in the inner bushes F.59281 G.W.Bell, we should like 2 of these to be fitted to this car. The oiling of the bushes should be similar to the front dampers of this car. Namely gravity feed of grooves in the bushes.
