BATTERY IGNITION CONTACTS SUPPLIED BY CONTACTS LTD

We have now completed an endurance test of 500 hours duration with two standard battery ignition distributors fitted with tungsten contact screws supplied by Messrs. Contacts Ltd.

These contacts are made of pure tungsten and are quoted at a figure of approx. 33.1/3% less than we are paying for our contacts from the Tungsten Mfg. Co.

The test was carried out under standard conditions and the condition of the points at the conclusion of the run was found to be the same as our present standard points. This is what we expected as both supplies of contacts are of pure tungsten.

The real fault with contacts is usually in the quality of the contact welding process, the contacts breaking away from the steel screw.

If Messrs. Contacts can guarantee the consistency of their product with regard to this, we see no reason in view of the satisfactory results of our tests why we should not obtain further production supplies of contacts from this source.
