661 S/W. C. to Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}2/KW7.2.39. We have been trying to sell a Wraith to Mr.John Pisani, and recently gave him a trial run. He liked the car very much but was disappointed in the speed and thought the car ought to do at least 80 m.p.h. He formed the opinion from the trial he had that the speed of our car was not very much over 70, which is true if the conditions are not altogether favourable. Mr.Pisani asks therefore if it is possible to have a chassis to the engine of which you could do something to make the car a little more speedy and so satisfy his wishes. Would you please say if in your view there is anything that could be done in a case of this sort to give the customer a few more miles per hour. We should be glad to have your early reply as in the meantime we may lose our customer to some other make of car. Our customer is the owner of a Lagonda, and is thinking of buying another if he cannot get a little more speed out of a Rolls-Royce, but we think he would be quite satisfied if he got a genuine 80.
