X3339 Extract from EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}1/Thn/H13.8.21. X.3719 4. Clutch Valves. X.4151. X.3339 "Am enclosing prints of this A.623 and A.624. Now standardised. I recommend Derby approve and adopt at Derby. Oil from clutch is still a trouble - even with those fitted with correct worsteds - oil leaks through and the worsted deteriorate, affected by acids in gas and oil, and oil diluted. Close fitting valve stem does definitelu control oil supply and remains practically constant, also valve seating remains good. Have tried it out and studied its action and use and am converted to its use. Pre-war cars are closer fitting stem. Besides to effect oil leak cure a more definite cheaper job. One takes hours to get out the worstd and fix another - case here is now dismantled clutch, change valve, refit, job O.K." EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/Thn. | ||
