16-G4.

The engine unit Cos.C.3 in this chassis is fitted with the following parts which did not appear in the previous unit 4-G-6. :-

Crankshaft E.55507. LEC.2719. Standard production except that the front end is altered to suit Auto Friction spring drive.

Auto Friction Spring Drive LEC.2719 altered as follows - All centrifugal loading taken away leaving the equivalent to a low inertia damper, having 5 lbs. damping load and 10 lbs. driving load at 17" radius.

Lodge Plugs with stepped insulators M.C.3.S.

Asbestos Valve Stem Packings.

Wheelcase to suit auto friction spring drive.

Fan nearer the radiator due to fan pulley being further forward because of auto friction spring drive. Pitch of fan blades altered to cure fan roaring. (the radiator should really be moved forward .750 to suit the spring drive, in which case the fan is correct without alteration).

Diabolo rubber rear engine mounting.

Modifications to chassis are as follows :-

Lowered steering column controls.

Shock dampers overhauled and re-erected with standard production loads. Front 60 & 45 lbs. Rear 65 & 55 lbs.

Clutch pedal modified to give 20% increased movement to suit stronger clutch springs.

20% stronger clutch springs. N. Sch.3030.

Rear brakes re-lined with standard Ferodo.

Lowered radiator filler.
