2. Get a pair of drums made in a high silicon alloy. Mr. Wheeler suggested 13% Si. This should make the contact area between drum and liner greater and therefore reduce working temperatures. It has a lower coefficient of expansion and a lower elastic limit.

3. Investigate the possibilities of putting the liner on the core when the latter comes out of the oven and pouring at a higher temperature so that the liner is raised to the temperature of the aluminium before the latter sets. This procedure should increase the likelihood of a good bond.

4. Investigate the possibilities of spraying aluminium on the liner before casting. A good bond might be obtained this way.
