re 25 HP. Chrysler and the Ford V.8.

Referring to memos Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}2/WT.7.11.32 and Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}1/WT.7.11.32, which we find very interesting, we should like rigged up some of our diamond mounted units with very flexible rubbers, so that the engine can be rocked by hand.

We realise that there is a difficulty with the exhaust, but for the purposes of the experiment, the exhaust pipe could be reduced in diameter, and some portion of the silencer suspension could be released to allow the requisite movement.

We wish to investigate primarily whether it is necessary to have the axis of suspension of the engine unit passing through the centre of gravity, and secondly whether any vibration arising from non-compliance with item one can be met by additional flexibility in the pivots or not.
