F.J.H. Please reply. File clm{D. D. Clapham} 12.45 Pms -> Levallois Sr/VA2/MLG.8.5.40 To "Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}" Works Re- B.V. Chassis B-I2-AW-Paris Trials Car We thank you very much for the full information contained in your Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}3/JS.{Mr Johnson's Secretary}26.4.40 which will be very helpful. We confirm having received all the Blue Prints mentioned in your memo. With reference to paragraph 6 of page 3 of your memo we fitted the 1/4" packing" under the radiator supports in order to avoid cutting into the lower aluminium reinforced strip as fitted to the side plates, however we admit that fitting a packing was in reality a mistake. On the other two Bentley V chassis which are at the Coachbuilders we have cut away the side plates by the necessary amount. The fitting of the packing did effect the alignment of the starting handle which we fairly easily put right. Sr thinks there is not enough poundage in the rear shock dampers. Will you therefore please let us know the correct settings and any other information which you think may be useful to us re rear dampers. "VA" | ||
