X. 8460 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to CJ. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}4/M2.10.25. PHANTOM PETROL TANK. We send herewith N.sch.2059 shewing a modified 2 level device, dispensing with the weir shewn on N.sch.2051. We have taken the opportunity to still further increase the dimensions of the filters, and their construction is modified to reduce the leakage from the diametral fits. The abandonment of the weir has come about because we found it impossible to arrange the level gauge so as to give an absolute indication of what petrol was in the tank. With the scheme here shewn the reading of the gauge should be accurate. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
