To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC (2) EFC9/T22.6.17. Bosch armature was thrown away on a spark gap and the other spark gap was used in conjunction with a high tension condenser and a spark gap for instantaneous vision of the Dixie Contact Breaker. The whole range of motion was covered by a combination of the range obtained by the Z.R.6 advance lever and by altering the relative timing of wheels A and C progressively by slipping the driving chain round, a tooth at a time, on wheel B. We found the motion of the Dixie contact breaker satisfactory up to speeds of 6500 R.P.M. | ||
