MR. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} Grills, Experimental Dept.. DERBY. X5840. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/LAM.6.11.31. With reference to the balanced crankshaft on 18-G.4. I think it would be advisable to give one of the men going to France on Monday, i.e., Pepper or one of the others, the lighter balance weights for the shaft at present in 18-G.4. Hancock assures me that he will be able to get over 80 m.p.h. on the French roads and if he does touch the torsional period, one means of keeping him satisfied will be to let him put the lighter weights on and reassure himself that with him his trouble ceases to exist. It will also be useful for us to have the information. Will you therefore please get an invoice from BP and let Pepper take these weights over. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
