Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}9/KW.1.2.34. The alternative scheme of a special Hoffman bearing shown on M.Sch.3923/4 requires several other new parts. The complete pinion assembly could not be changed without altering the setting of the axle. This scheme is not therefore applicable as a replacement, and could only therefore be fitted to new chassis. We think that Hoffman's should carry out rig tests to show what improvement their suggested bearing is over the present one. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/H.{Arthur M.
