COPY. X755 P. RV/FHA. C. to G/WFH. ROY{Sir Henry Royce}/JTO/HP11.3.30. Chassis No. 105-WJ. C/91139. With reference to Hm{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs}/MIAS/KW27.2.30 concerning two 6 volt P & R batteries filled with acid which were returned to Makers under cover of our order R.8853. The National Accumulator Co.Ltd. report that the trouble in this instance is not due to a defect in the material but to the wedge which is inserted between the battery and the battery box forcing the side of the container inwards, causing same to crack. You will possibly agree that this would occur if the wedge is not the same width as the battery. However, in view of the fact that the batteries have only recently been supplied, makers are agreeable to P.T.O. | ||
