Dear Robotham, I regret, through an oversight, I have not replied sooner to your letter of 30th December. I have arranged that two 5.00/16 Avon Standard tyres will be despatched to you immediately. Because we believe your motor car will provide a very good test of the quality of our product, we do not propose to invoice these tyres to you, but we shall, of course, have to charge you with Purchase Tax which, I believe, amounts to 13/5d. per tyre. I have instructed our Sales Department to arrange for this sum to be charged direct to you C/o of the Company. We have, at last, received back the 6.50/16 mould we sent to Birmingham to be recut as arranged when I visited you on 28th October, 1940. Experimental tyres for you to test should be despatched from these Works about Wednesday, 15th January. With best wishes for 1941, Yours sincerely, J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} Mackay [Handwritten notes:] file tyres 1331 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
