X8940 S/W. (Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}). Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}/Macl1/DON.11.2.25. Re Experimental car. In reply to your memo Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG of the 10th inst., we are pleased to inform you that we have been extremely lucky in obtaining accomodation on the cross-channel boat leaving Folkestone to [struck through: and] Boulogne at 11 a.m. on Friday 13th inst., as all cross-channel accomodation is fully booked up, no matter by what service until the end of the present week. We presume you are already aware that the car is to be along-side about 9.30 or 10 a.m. Car ticket is attached herewith. Will you please note and advise others concerned that in cases of this kind, it is always essential to indicate whether the car is open or closed [struck through: as] cross-channel [struck through: service] boats will not accept more than 2 closed cars (on deck) and none under deck, per crossing. In this case, we have indicated that the above car is a closed one and that the owner is Mr. Lidsey, which we presume is O.K. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}/Mac.{Mr Macintosh} | ||
