B.297. 22nd September, 1938. F.{Mr Friese} DOOD. Messrs. Rolls Royce Ltd., DERBY. For the attention of the Experimental Dept. Dear Sirs, Re: Wilmot-Breeden locks. We recently received a call from a representative of Messrs. Wilmot-Breeden Ltd., when we discussed the new type locks and pointed out that in our opinion the catch was not deep enough, and they have promised to look into this question thoroughly and communicate with us again. Their representative informed us in any case that they could not promise delivery of a set of these locks in under six weeks at least, so that it seems quite impossible to fit this type to the coachwork of 3.B.V. We are, therefore, providing the Everall type to both this body and that of 2.B.50., as arranged with Mr. Bailey, who seemed to be quite satisfied with them. When we hear again from Messrs. Wilmot-Breeden as to the result of their investigations of our criticisms, we shall write you again. Yours faithfully, For PARK WARD & CO. LTD. M.W. Thompson noted F.D please file | ||
