6134. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}17/JH. 19th March, 1938. Messrs. M C L and Repetition Ltd., Pool Lane, Langley, BIRMINGHAM. Dear Sirs, We have considered the suggestions and matter generally, contained in the correspondence under reference JDB/HWC. Dudley, of Feb. 8th. 1938. We think you know our equipment is a somewhat specialised one, and is based on a shunt dynamo and regulator system. On the other hand your equipment appears to be based on the third brush dynamo principle. For these reasons there is nothing of MCL design that we can usefully take up at the moment. We note your remarks concerning your readiness to manufacture parts or complete units. In this respect we would supply you with particulars of our dynamo requirements, but we feel it would be expecting too much, to ask you to quote for a machine designed and constructed to meet those requirements. Should however you have any further proposals, we shall be pleased to consider them. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
