We have also had trouble with the petrol pump and steering on the 25/30. We have lost orders to American cars on suspension, and also on clutch pick up. Therefore, complaints are not entirely confined to the Phantom III, although I admit that they are much greater in proportion than on the other models. I would not call the 25/30 nearly as reliable a car as the late 20/25, which, although not so good on acceleration and general nippiness, was a pleasanter car to drive, as it gave one a feeling of more security, and the performance generally was much silkier.

It is very disappointing to be continually faced with doubts as to the reliability of the Phantom III, and as our business is largely concerned with selling Rolls-Royce cars, I am writing to you in the hope that these troubles may speedily be rectified, and that we shall be able to assure customers that they are things of the past.

Kind regards,

Yours sincerely,

(Sgd.) G.L. Sclater-Booth.
